Helloooo,

Yet another installment from the pages of my life here in South Africa. The week has been amazing. Spent lots of time connecting with people and enjoying the country. I've hooked up with some legends. Breakfast with the one and only Shane Watkins, a random meeting on the beach with the beautiful Jenny Akal, and of course king of the cooked canine Mr.Mark Slaughter, and Matt and Jackie Puts. It's been amazing as always, God has continued to do some great things to remind me why I'm here. The weather has been a bit dodgy, mix of rain and clouds and some wicked thunderstorms. Every time the sun decides to break through I hop in the bucky and jet to the beach to soak it in. I've ended up staying with my good mate Rowan Mallon for my time here in Durban. I was planning on hopping around from place to place while I was here, but he's gone above and beyond to allow me to crash at his digs until I head through to Cape Town this Friday. He's been amazing allowing me to use his car during the days and putting up with my guitar playing when he gets in from work. He's made my stay here incredibly special. I'm sure you'll meet him on our side of the pond some time very soon. The church here is killer. A little bigger than I'm used to, but still very cool to see family worked out in a bigger context. So between connecting with friends, church, playing some guit, surfing, walks on the beach, and munching some serious biltong, my week has been great. I feel strangely at home here, probably because I have more South Africans in my life than Canadians back home. Looking forward to what the second half of my journey is going to look like. I'll keep you all updated. Love you lots,

Dave

Hey Ya’ll,

Sitting in the living room, over looking the Indian Ocean. I’m currently staying in a friend of mine’s place in the city of Durban. I’m loving every second of it. Easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. This week was great. Spent my time in a city called Bloemfontein at the South African LTT. The week was amazing. God has been speaking loudly, and lives have been changed, mine included. It has easily been one of the most profound times I’ve ever experienced. There is most definitely an open heaven over this country. I’ve met some amazing people; friends that I’m sure I’ll have for a long time on the other side of my time here. I woke up this morning at 7am and headed down to the beach for an early morning surf at New Pier. Following getting laughed at by the locals, we chilled for some breaky on the beach. This city is so beautiful, and the people are amazing. I covet your prayers while I’m here. Please continue putting them up. Pray that I would continue to stay focused on the tasks at hand, and that God would continue to speak specifically as He has been. I’ll post again soon and get some pics from Durban up. Love and miss you all,

- Dave

Howzit.

Dave here again. Still alive still breathing. Just wanted to give you a quick updated because I'm not sure when it is I'll be able to post again. I've spent the last couple of days on safari. Got mauled by lions, and almost trampled by elephants. It's been great time considering I really wasn't sure what I would be doing for these days before the LTT. The time has been amazing and I've connected with a lot of great people from the local church. Posted a few pics on the 'pics' portion of the site. We got hooked up with one of the keepers at one of the game reserves and he gave us a closer look at some of the cubs. The pics say it all, hope you like them. I've got hundreds of really amazing pictures already that you'll be able to check out when I get home. Sorry this one's so short, but I've got church first thing in the morning so I'm going to have to crash. My new South African cell number is 0768012827, so it doesn't cost me a billion dollars to text and talk any more. So feel free to call or text me whenever you would like, it's free for me to receive both. Love you all, I'll post again when I'm able,

Dave

Hey Ya’ll,

Dave here from the beautiful country of South Africa. Been a good journey so far. I’m happy to tell you that I’ve survived two days of travel, no cuts or bruises, and I’m still breathing. I’m glad I was able to split the flights the way I did because I’ve experienced very little jet-lag because of it. Spent the day Wednesday in London, England with my friend Ashley Pearson. She showed me London in 6 hours. She’s pretty much a super hero. You can see the pics of me messing with the queens guards. It’s a good thing that those guys can’t talk or move because I’m sure he probably would have judo-chopped me with his crazy sword. Flew all through the night again and Landed in Johannesburg this morning. Notice the sign in the airport and what their security logo spells. I thought it was funny. Spent most of the day today chilling by the pool with a new friend of mine named Johnny, from Australia. So it’s been great and restful so far trying to adjust my body to being on the other side of the planet. I’m meeting Randy Harris, and Mel Miles tomorrow, as well as two Australian boys for a trip up to the mountains. Sunday morning at 4am I’ll be traveling to the Pillansburg game reserve for a little safari. And then Monday morning I leave for Bloemfontein to spend my week and the South African LTT. I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll do my best to keep this thing updated when I can with pics and all. I’m still able to receive text messages on my Canadian phone, so please feel free to send them my way if you want to drop me a little note. It’s free for me to receive. I’ll let you know when I get my South African cell number up and running. Miss you all lots. Some of you more than others ;) Please keep praying for me as I journey through this country and through this time. Talk to you again soon,

Dave
